Hi Helen. You've actually defined our relationship with minimalism. For us it isn't about having no possessions, it's about being considered about what you have and only living with things you feel you use and have some quality. When it comes to hobbies and interests we're trying harder to make sure we only focus on the ones that really absorb us and that we're prepared to spend time on. With that comes a focus on the right possessions too. It should be a natural choice. Thanks for commenting.

I love food and cooking and my cookbook collection is now taking up two whole shelves in one of our bookcases. After discovering this blog and other minimalist blogs I've reviewed my cookbooks and tagged a few that I could part with. But I don't think I'll be able to stop buying cookbooks. How do you have a hobbie/interest without collecting the bits and bobs that go with it?
